A reputation built on merit.
Kaysi Fagan is an Alberta-based criminal defence lawyer who has practised exclusively in criminal law for more than 16 years. She has defended cases at every level of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and was named one of Canada’s Top Lawyers Under 40 in 2022.
She began her legal career at INTERPOL headquarters in Lyon, France, holds three law degrees from three countries — including two master’s degrees — and taught Advanced Criminal Law at the University of Calgary for nearly a decade.

Kaysi earned her law degree at the University of Western Ontario, before completing graduate law degrees at New York University (NYU) and the National University of Singapore.

Prior to law school she graduated at the top of her class from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), and was a finalist for a Rhodes Scholarship.
More than 16 years.
Every level of Court.
Kaysi has defended thousands of criminal charges, from straightforward matters that she was able to get withdrawn within days of being retained, to complex trials spanning months.
While her focus is the frontline of trial work, she has appeared in multiple appellate courts, and the Supreme Court of Canada. She has numerous reported court decisions — many of which have been included in Canadian legal databases and are relied upon by lawyers and courts.

When it matters most.
Before law, Kaysi spent three years as a firefighter, and competed internationally in the Firefit Combat Challenge, placing 5th at the World Championships. For more than two decades, she has trained in Muay Thai, earning her black belt in 2012.
Both pursuits reward the same things: discipline, decisiveness, and composure under pressure. They also require something harder to teach: a willingness to move toward difficult situations rather than away from them.
